Default Ferguson's greatest adversary?

As we're looking back over 27 years, who do you reckon was the best of his opponents?

Poll coming up so hold yer horses.

Difficult to split between Wenger and Jose. Had Jose stayed longer he would have won more but fair play to Wenger, he went toe to toe and gave as good as he got.

It's actually quite sad that his legacy will finish tainted because the team he had in 98 was as good as any of United's tbf.

Wenger.

The Arsenal team of 99 was a formidable foe, without them raising our game I doubt the treble would have happened.

Wenger. The Utd Arsenal rivalry of the late nineties, early 2000's was fantastic, particularly the away games at Highbury. Wenger certainly got under Feries skin.

Wenger hands down. You could tell those two couldn't stand each other, which filtered down to the players. Well and truly saw the french @#%&! off though.

Nah. They were shite in Europe.

Very good team, but nowhere near Fergie's three great United sides.

Guardiola in Europe. Ambramovich and the Sheiks in the Premier League. Out and out manager would have to be Maureen based on this years knock out (combined with his Porto victory and time at Chelsea).

Would never have happened (the treble), if Bergkamp scored that penalty Arsenal would have won the league and Fa Cup - Always said 97/98 98/99 where the best years of the premiership, two top teams slugging it out toe to toe

Chelsea and City have never come close

Wenger without a doubt.

Built a great team the proper way, not by just throwing money at it.

Nobody else comes close really. Used to love our games with that Arsenal side.

Probably should've put in Guardiola tbh

The great thing about the Arsenal rivalry was as well as the edge there was often some really good football, from both teams. Whereas any of the games with Chelsea, the berts or the vermin in their occasional resurgences were usually pretty drab and spiteful affairs.

Marcello Lippi & Juventus. They showed us what it would take to win the European Cup. The games between our two clubs between 96-99 are some of the best football matches I've ever seen.

Fat benny doesn't even register, the £#%&!ing useless @#%&!.
