That was £100m well spent

Wishes he was as good as Almirón

Bout 5 minutes till he gets hooked here.

He was probably their best player this evening
I’ve never really rated Sterling but he’s a miles more productive player than Grealish who is the ultimate show pony

However the big issue is Haaland and how he doesn’t seem to be part of same team as the other 10 players
Sure he can score 2 at home against the dross of the league but against anyone who puts up a fight he goes missing

Also he doesn’t work without the ball so City’s pressing game has gone to shit and which has exposed their defence

Good player but wrong club.

He needs to be somewhere he can have freedom. He doesn't suit Peps strict system

What’s his excuse in the England team where he never scores or assists either

He’s just a nice ball player who only racks up fouls rather than goals and assists

A free spirited, maverick footballer at Villa who drifted around the pitch and influenced the game was never going to really fit easily into Guardiola's regimented system where he micro-manages every single pass and movement.

As for Haaland, they've taken an utter bulldozer of a centre forward and just basically turned him into a tap-in merchant. Guardiola doesn't want a superstar striker, he wants someone to just stand in the 6 yard box and poke their leg out every time someone cuts the ball back from the byline.

He did the same to Ibrahimovic at Barcelona. Spent a fortune on a player who was a bit of a maverick and in the end they couldn't get on because Guardiola the obsessive control freak cannot handle his players doing anything outside of his explicit instuctions.

I genuinely cannot wait for his time in management to be over, he's inflicted awful, dull, suffocating shite on everyone.

This.

He …doesn’t….actually ….do anything.

Nice touch. Cut inside. Pass off/draw foul.

Agreed, Pep has him playing all these niche rolls, he's starting to look like a left back but he's not scoring or providing many assists....and yet apparently he's doing a great job???

I always thought he would be a good fit for Ole's counter attacking style, but oh well, not so sure if he's a fit for Ten Hag.

Grealish is a good player, not £100m good clearly, but used properly would be looking much better than he is now.

It seemed an odd signing at the time and it’s not made any more sense in the meantime.

Villa thought the same. That’s why they set a release clause they thought nobody would be stupid enough to pay

I don’t even think city are holding him back. He was like this at Villa. Nice on the eye, but doesn’t hurt teams enough. His goals and assists tally is shite for someone so highly regarded.

He has this reputation as a ‘maverick’ footballer, but he’s painfully safe and boring. Not especially quick or skillfull, doesn’t often take his man on. His most notable asset is winning free kicks. Wow. Great.

Comparisons with Paul Gascogne are extremely flattering. Gazza was a far more exciting player than Grealish.

Bruno gets a lot of stick for giving the ball away, but players like him are meant to make things happen. They will give the ball away, but I’d take Bruno’s output, influence and match-winning ability any day of the week.
