Well that didn't happen did it Haha.

I know lots about United and football, but £#%&! all about what a director of football does. So if I'm guessing, needs to be someone who knows how to control a club? Financial, staff raports, fanbase. An all round knowledgable person. Doesn't have to know the ins and outs of UTD. But someone who invests into the history and style, and makes it an integral part of it

He was great in Lethal Weapon and ticks all boxes vis-a-vis diversity.

Could be the ideal candidate?

Sounds like something could be happening after Ole’s comments in his latest presser* saying a football manager can’t do everything they used to do because of time and himself and Ed are looking at ways to make the club running as smoothly as possible...

*who was the stunner asking a few questions
no not Custis or Stone etc

Going in low, unimpressive CV, no experience outside of England, never dealt with agents/transfers etc. Be an odd one if true, whats he even done at utd?

Yeah watching that presser, it's clearly on the cards to get one.

Don't care who it is, cant be as bad as Woodward.

United also hope the technical director could ease the stagnation youngsters at Under-23 level have suffered. United could consider signing 18-year-old potential players with a view to loaning them out to clubs for two years before they gauge whether they are ready for the United first-team. Molde have expressed an interest in an alliance with United and there are other strategic partnerships they are looking to put in place.
Basically, they want a businessman. These kids will be sold like cattle.

I see nothing in there to suggest they want someone who will invest transfer funds in a consistent manner. It will be feast or famine for the foreseeable future, and as we have seen, that just isn't a sustainable model for success.

He won't have a clue on the real budget from one season to another. UNLESS they find 'a cultural fit' (e.g. another Ed but with half a clue).

My feeling is we're taking so long in getting somebody in, because the guys we offer the job to, tell us to £#%&! off, as soon as they read what their duties will be.

We'll be asking them to do half the job they normally do, because Ed still wants control.
