I think he'll have a similar impact as Giggs did. Moderate record, but gave the club a much needed boost by lifting the gloom and giving to fans something to connect to.

I expect we'll play with a bit more confidence and if we can get a talented group of players upping it by 10% then that will produce slme better football and results.

However, there's still slme fundamental issues with the squad that can't be papered over.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if any honeymoon period wears off.

Making a caretaker permanent wouldn’t work. The whole dynamic changes. Fans, players and manager all change when the job becomes permenant as opposed to caretaker.

What it should do if he does well is get him a premier league job and put him top of the list if the next manager fails.

United's decision on Poch needs to be made now, so how well Ole does won't matter. If he wants the job then it should be all tied up long before the end of the season. And rightly so. But Solskjaer if successful shouldn't be seen as a non option if Poch goes to Madrid.
