Nemanja Vidic

After a slow start to the season, he's finally looking like the defender he was last season. He's been superb over the last 10 games or so (forget about his sending off) and has saved Rio's arse a few times. Let's hope he continues his fine form, starting today against Delap's long throws...

I know but what I was trying to say was, barring his moment of madness, he's been £#%&!ing brilliant. I don't think you'll find a better, more attacking back 4 than Rafael, Vidic, Rio & Evra and Vidic has been the rock out of that bunch.

Agree completely with that. Earlier this season he looked well out of form and was mis-timing everything, but as you say the last 10 games or so he has been brilliant.

As a fan I know this season has felt very stop-start-stop-start to me, wonder if the players feel the same. I am just eager for us to keeping playing premier league games and cutting the dippers lead.

It has been very stop-start but we're still in the mix & it's still in our hands.

Defensively though (after a shakey start) we've been sound. We just need to get our shit together up front. I'm sure we'll click shortly.

Completely tainted the Japan victory. In fact, if someone said we'd win the thing but lose him for the CL then I wouldn't have bothered with it.
