They have, or used to have, a large number of British fans who would make the trip every other week to Dortmund to watch them. The was a documentary segment somewhere about it. Apparently it used to cost some Arsenal fans less to go to Dormund home matches, have a scran and have several scoops than going to the Emirates. Dortmund appreciated it so much they published English language programmes and staffed a part of the ground with English speakers just for them.

A season ticket at the club only costs 215 euros too and that is expensive for the bundesliga.

3634 likes though

Weve got almost as many for a tweet about Lee Grant

Fair point. They'll never compete with those Sanchez numbers

They’ve also bought Nico Schulz. All around the 20m mark, we’re about to sign Dan James for around the same price

Even Bayern don't seem to spend big like the other clubs. How do they do it?

Could argue Barcelona are just as well run and they've spent ridiculous money the past few years. Whatever it is we really should be looking to the likes of Bayern for inspiration. They're a wonderful club.

Unfortunately Bayern's model is to bully every domestic club by taking their best players. We can't do this because we're no longer the best in our own league and there's a degree of financial competition.

Really?

Haven't they done £30m+ on Pavard and £80m on Hernandez so far this summer?

Wasn't aware of the Hernandez move. Fair enough but I was referring to the past few years, no surprise if they do have to spend big, it's probably a necessity to stay at the top these days.
