Do you genuinely think that they’re just going to invest that sum of money to let the Glazers carry on running the club as normal? |

I’d be perfectly satisfied if Ratcliffe was taking control, if for no other reason than his surname isn’t £#%&!ing Glazer, but that’s not what’s going on here. I also look forward to seeing how his billion quid “investment” will be used by the club to move forward… |

The money Ineos are paying for shares won't be coming anywhere near the club. You think Ineos will be chucking money in to improve the club's finances? Get the impression he's been sold on the 'huge future value' and it just goes in the Ineos portfolio. They'll have a seat on the board etc. but no real influence. I didn't want Qatar, don't trust Jim and absolutely didn't want the Glazers to get the minority investment that would enable them to continue. All Billionaires are @#%&!s. Jim is a @#%&! that's a Chelsea fan. They're all in it for the profit and nothing more. |

Some oil Baron, imo, would take us further away than where we should be than a local investor looking to gradually take over the club. We don't need unlimited funds, or a tacky new stadium, we just need to have access to our own money without the gimps using the club as a piggy bank. We're nowhere near where we should be but if sheik had come in it could have been gone forever. So I'm delighted about that.

So he’ll be in control of the sporting side of things. Makes sense now. He’s just in it for profit though apparently “Why would a minority stakeholder get sporting control? Because that is the price Sir Jim Ratcliffe is demanding for his very generous — and completely out of character — offer to give the Glazers’ a premium price for what looks like a very mediocre slice of the pie. Why anyone who owns only 25 per cent of the company would be given such enormous power. After all, Manchester United are still, just about, first and foremost a sports team. And controlling that bit would appear to be the most important bit. The Glazers, however, are clearly streets ahead of the rest of us and see Manchester United for what it really is: a global advertising and retail brand in the leisure and entertainment industry. Who runs the football team is of minor concern when there are eyeballs to monetise in Malaysia. When that is your focus, letting INEOS hire and fire coaches is akin to letting Sir Jim wash the kits, too. INEOS, of course, will see this very differently. They are all about performance, as their cycling, sailing and running teams constantly remind us. Striving for elite performance, distilling it, packaging it, is what INEOS does. Or certainly what it likes to say about what it does. It is what drove Ratcliffe to create his empire of cast-off and unpopular companies and it is what has inspired him to take a crack at reviving fading British brands like the Land Rover Defender, the Belstaff fashion label and now Manchester United. So, he will happily start with sporting control, because that is what excites him and his mates. And he will let the Glazers continue to play at being masters of the sports industry universe for a bit longer. But he will eventually take that responsibility off them, too.” From The Athletic. Very promising. £#%&! Qatar. |

Very promising?
Based on the sporting decisions they’ve made at Nice? Anyway… billionaire business man is in it for profit. He might have designs on getting to 100% ownership, but I imagine the Glazers have designs on owning the controlling share forever. Can’t see any potential problems with a split between the business and sporting sides either.. Just more years of uncertainty and %@#$&!s ahead. |

Personally happy that we’re not being taken over by Qatar
Don’t like the idea of being the plaything of a nation state Countries shouldn’t be able to own clubs Obviously would want it to be a full sale and the Glazers to be fully removed from the club but sadly the bastards for whatever reason aren’t going for that Not sure why some fans are blaming Ratcliffe for this as he’d buy the whole club if he could but it’s the Glazer’s deciding not to agree to a full sale If it takes a few years to fully purge the Glazers then I’ll take it even if it’s not ideal Let’s wait to see what the agreement is before we pass judgement on it |

If Ratcliffe is demanding sporting control from them then that’s something, but like anybody who has tried to make any changes has found, will the Glazers actually allow him to operate effectively? Ultimately, they’ll still have their filthy hands on the coffers. |
