We don’t have full control over games when we have a full XI and full strength. We lack a midfield on the best of days, we were never going to control it one the bald bastard sent off Casemiro .

Hope they actually appeal this time. Show all the other ones which haven’t been given and tell them to stick it up their %@#$&!s

You control games from the middle. Bruno fernandes has to be the absolute worst player to have on your side if you're down to 10. Tries ridiculous things at stupid moments.

That has seriously pissed me off
Pissed off at Casemiro for once again being needlessly reckless and costing us
Pissed off at VAR because it is a red card when you put it on slow motion replay but so have been loads of challenges this season that VAR hasn’t intervened in
Where’s the consistency

Should have had one pen at least

However our sloppiness at that start of the match caused that situation to develop

Very very costly game

Bruno is very talented but also very reckless
How can you be so reckless and causal with the ball when down to 10 men
Also Sancho isn’t going to make it here, he’s way too soft

Martinez motm again, he was absolutely brilliant today

All the talk will be about the card but we were piss poor all over the pitch. Only Shaw stood out and that’s a stretch.

Think we’re starting to look like a team that is stretched physically and ability wise. Couple that with most of it playing in the World Cup it’s been a long season already and you just hope they’ve enough in the tank to carry us over the line.

Help me out? If the ref carded him he saw the contact and saw the “foul” and deemed it a yellow. Is that a clear and obvious mistake?

Even then Casemiro won the ball and his leg bounces off.
The challenge on Garnacho is the worst. It's actual dangerous play and scissor challenges are a foul and a booking, regardless of getting the ball. Exactly the same as what that oaf Carrol did to Eriksen and he's still out. Anywhere else on a pitch that gets given.

Seething.

Here’s why it’s not, because on any given weekend , that sending off wouldn’t happen. He won the ball, it bounced off and hit his shin. It will happen next week and the player will not get sent off.

Whatever you make of it, we are at a disadvantage because referees just want to screw us over. The penalty on Bruno? The guy takes him out before he makes contact with the ball.

Then the hand ball which the defender had all the time in the world to get his arm out the way

Notice when garnacho got injured , Southampton defender won the ball but his follow through he kicked garnacho and hurt him…notice how it wasn’t a foul because he won the ball and the follow through is part of the game.

If you want to call casemiros a sending off you apply the same ruling to every time it happens. I look forward to players getting the ball and the follow through hitting the opposition player and players being sent off.

This guy is a weak referee

Andre Marriner on VAR. No surprise at some of those decisions

Did well to hang on

The season is starting to catch up with us. That’s 2 wins from our last 5 in the league. Today was frustrating because we put a lot into what should have been relatively comfortable with 11.

Next league is Newcastle away - without Casemiro. Lose that and we’re really in a scrap.

Betis and Fulham and then maybe the international break is coming at a good time.

Enjoyed that.

Even if MoTD was running a proper programme tonight, how much of that could they salvage?

Top 4 is going to be touch and go I think. Especially now we're going to have Fred and The Scottish Player in the middle for the next 4 £#%&!ing games. Could potentially torpedo the entire season.

Of all the players to continually get retrospective red cards why does it have to be the guy who's made such a difference to us? It's like we're £#%&!ing cursed.

not unhappy given the circumstances...

odd to have bruno in a midfield two. Seem to be playing him a different position each week. He looked knackered at the end. This was an ideal game to rest him.

going to miss cass

Saying we won't get top 4 is pointless dooming - its not as if Newcastle or Spurs are in terrific form either.

No but newcastle have two games in hand on us and we have to go there. Minus our key midfielder.

Just seen the handball.

How on Earth is that not a penalty?

I know why - because they’ve painted themselves into the corner where they don’t give pens when a player is on the ground and handles. So because tje stupid #@&%! fell over, any handball he then commits is fine because he’s just ‘breaking his fall’.

The ball is rolling along the ground and blocks Weghorst who is six yards out. We could easily have had a corner out of that move when Weghorst got tackled.

Terrible decision.

The Bruno one is worse. He takes out Bruno’s back leg before he even makes contact with the ball

Personally i'd have left Weghorst on. Rashford couldn't hold his trousers up 2nd half let alone the ball. Sancho was a complete waste of a shirt all afternoon. He'll be turfed out soon.

Just take it for granted that officials are going to give us £#%&! all. In that respect at least, its just like the old days.
