Question one of level obvious football finance finals : "Please provide evidence in one simple chart that Manchester United business objective is not to win trophies but to maintain top 4 status."

Crazy amount of guesswork gone into those figures. Wouldn't really give them any credence.

Someone mentioned Sabitzer earlier. I’d forgot about him. We have removed both he and Fred from midfield and only trough in Mount.

We removed Ronaldo and Weghorst and have brought in a kid, expecting him to replace the former’s goals and the latter’s work rate.

We got rid of De Gea and brought in the now injured Onana, who is better at passing the ball out to our ETH-revitalised bunch of previously lambasted defenders (Maguire aside, obviously).

Does anyone seriously believe this is the way the boss wants it to be? To have his squad made weaker each transfer window? What you have witnessed this summer is the glazer philosophy in its fullest light. Qualify for the champions league and then ensure the manager doesn’t have adequate resources or quality to compete in it.

They need to be run out of the club urgently, totally and completely. For those who entertained notions of them staying on in some capacity I hope, at least, that what we are witnessing now has cured you of that absurdity.

Apparently Joel is furious at his siblings for draining the club of resources and is attempting to wrestle control of the club solely into his hands. Hearing he’s the only one who’s fronted the money for the recent signings and even told Erik not to worry about paying him back.

“For the fans”, he whispered, as he gave the go ahead to bring Mason Mount into the fold.

You can’t understand that our transfer activity this summer has weakened our squad? In midfield we are down one player, up front we are down one player (forgot greenwood is out too). In defence, we are only improved by ten hag’s coaching of the garbage he inherited.

Despite qualifying for champions league, our squad is worse now than the one that started 2023. This is purely down to the owners. They’ve done the same in other years when we’ve qualified for the champions league. It is how they operate. They are running the club im opposition to the manager and his ambition, and they need to go. Now.

That any clearer?

He’s a bit better than de Gea cos he can pass a ball. Unfortunately, the defenders he has to pass out to, with the notable exception of Martinez, aren’t very good with the ball when they get it.

Not defending the Glazers but it’s still a decent budget. I don’t think that counts what city actually paid for Haaland too.

If the manager wants to spend a big chunk of it on Antony and Mount, it’s on him. His recruitment is looking a bit one dimensional and bland.

That’s nothing close to a shoestring budget in reality.

what we've seen is pretty much textbook Glazers for the last 10 years.

new manager comes in, there's substantial investment in the team, followed by moderate success and champions league qualification

then the next season the investment is scaled back whilst they rake in the champions league money, the manager is left short in key areas of the team and we struggle.

There isn't another club in the top 5 who've had to sell before they can invest apart from us.
