The set up seemed deliberately narrow with Martial and Greenwood looking to cut back in but surely we need some overlapping if we do that? Shaw seemed a bit lethargic and AWB tried but it made us too predictable. Given the options we have it must have been planned.

The most important thing we are missing is not a DM who breaks up play but a player in that position who can pass forwards that's what holding us back. We don't get the ball out quickly because our passing is too negative. Varane can pick out decent passes and Matic through the lines but we need someone who can see space.

Agreed. McFred’s limitations on the ball is one of the biggest problems. This is why someone like Matic or Donny deserves a chance.

I’m sick of hearing how Donny doesn’t play that position…. Neither do McFred, by the looks of it.

Ole’s refusal to do anything different and persist with something so clearly an issue is going to cost him his job.

What Donny could do is play those little 1- 2s that we now rarely do it's like we fanny about until someone tries a million dollar pass. We don't work the other team around enough.

He’s just better and more comfortable on the ball. Uses his body well and ‘let’s the ball do the work’, so to speak. He presses well too. Not especially aggressive, but reads the game well.

Just wasting away on the bench while we continue to flog a dead horse.

It's reading of the game, it's knowing when to and when not to.

It's a huge problem with this team. When they're breaking forwards and your team are exposed, every other top team would foul or at least try to. Stop the move. Then let your team mates get back.

That's when you need to foul. Instead we like to foul players when they're in their own 18 yard box and give them more chance to time waste, usually in stoppage time. Dumb, idiotic, panicky fouls that come from an overall lack of in-game tactical awareness.

If he loses that ball, Gray is away down the left. It was pretty clear.

It amazes me how we give away daft needless fouls, but don’t do it when we actually need to.

When we need to take more risks with the ball, we don’t. When we need to be more careful with the ball, we’re not.

We’re an immensely careless and stupid team.
This. It's an obvious threat, £#%&!ing daft not to stop him in any way- not get bounced into Row A ffs

There’s only Varane in the whole squad you’d look at and think ‘there’s an intelligent footballer’ based on what we’ve seen of them in a red shirt.

Maybe Matic and Mata between wheezes.

Mason is getting there but has bad moments, which is to be expected, and I think Sancho has it, not many others though.

I’d add Ronaldo and Cavani to that list too. Players that simply do the right thing, by and large.

Thumbs down

Got a couple of Everton supporting mates, both have been saying "I know United were poor, but I'm gutted we didn't win".

Everton.

Andros Townsend.

£#%&!ing hell. This is terrible.

Yeah, same.

“If we’d have had Calvert Lewin and Richarlison, we’d have won”

And they’re probably right.

They’re talking shit. Their performance and impact on the game has been greatly overstated. If we’d won 3-0 it wouldn’t have been a travesty by any stretch. What they mean is they’re gutted they didn’t nick it despite how passive and shit they were for the bulk of the game.

When he brought Ronaldo and Sancho on we were well on top and it looked a question of when we increased our lead, they couldn’t get out of their half. They had one shot on target in the first half.

Fred gifted them a glimmer and they took it. We still could and should have won it when Sancho snatched at that chance at the end.

Fans will always look at it from their perspective and from their perspective they had the game on a plate when Davies got in and he shit out. They reduced us to very little (or rather we did).

Yes, we were doing ok and should have got the second to see it out, but shoulda woulda coulda. The best chance to win the match fell to them and they blew it,

The fact shit teams are now disappointed with just a point (as I’m sure Aston Villa would have been too if Bruno hadn’t skied his penalty) only shows how shit we are right now. We’re there for the raking and teams want to fill their boots.

Could they £#%&!. The only clear chance they had besides the goal was when the pillock passed it instead of shooting.

You’ve got Ole out specs on, you probably thought Leeds dominated

I’m not saying we were great at all, but you can actually pinpoint when it went from being a comfortable home win, without being spectacular, to Everton actually having something to fight for and that was Fred getting Ragdolled for about the 10th time this season. They’d done nothing before that.

So, a clear chance at 1-1 with 6 minutes left. Can’t see why they might be ruing that?

Only as much as we’re ruing Sancho’s clear chance with what, 3 minutes left?

He also passed because the angle was against him, which maybe Sancho should’ve considered tbh.

The angle wasn’t against him. He was slightly right of townsends position when he scored. He should have shot and should have scored himself. He passed because he’s a fanny. It’s part of why Everton fans are frustrated too….because they hate him and it was so typical of him

Yeah, we could have won it too. Their chance was clearer and we didn’t really create any more than they did. It was a fairly even game, they were well worth their point and had a big chance to win it they they royally £#%&!ed it. I can completely see why they are ruing that one.

I think the bigger concern is that this is even a conversation. You look at those line ups and they shouldn’t be anywhere near us. We should be coasting it and not even discussing the margins.

That’s what we are now. A team that needs moments to go for us. Even Ole says it a lot.

If we’d have taken this chance
Fine margins
That’s football
