Pissed off in the match thread, but the next day always brings more calm.
I feel for us a bit at the moment. Yes, there’s long-standing issues, but we’re dealing with a lot of shit at the moment and I don’t think we’re seeing this lot at the best of their abilities. We’ve had an awful preseason with an unprecedented amount of issues to deal with: Ownership Greenwood Antony Sancho Maguire Injuries to Shaw, Varane, mount, Mainoo Lack of fitness for Hojlund, Amrabat We’ve signed 5 players this summer and we haven’t seen a single outfield signing play consistently. Whatever we think of Mount, he was a big signing for us and part of whatever ETH had in store for the side. That’s gone. With all we’ve spent, we still ended up starting Mctominay and bringing on Martial. ETH doesn’t want either of those. We can’t get Hojlund in the team for 90 minutes yet. That sub yesterday was always going to happen due to fitness. If he had five starts under his belt, no way does he go off. It felt like a symbolic awful sub as much as anything else. The one thing to feel positive about being taken away and replaced with an avatar of our mediocrity. Some of our better players aren’t up to speed yet. Casemiro is the obvious one, but rashford isn’t scoring and Martinez looks well off the pace too. I don’t think he’s fully fit. He’s been subbed 3 times this season already. There’s the off field issues with Antony and Sancho that need resolving asap. We at least have closure with Greenwood. In the context of the games, we’ve ended up on the wrong end of some key moments. That goal at Arsenal and Hojlund goal yesterday completely change the game and the mood. I’m not lamenting the decisions, just acknowledging the fine margins. Those aren’t going for us right now at the time when we could really do with it. We’ve led for about 30 minutes combined this season. We’ve either been chasing games or banging our head against the wall. It all seems chaotic at the moment, both on and off the pitch. The issues just seem like too much right now and we need to find a way to weather it. I’d be more concerned if we were turning in these performances with a more settled eleven and players with minutes under our belt. Get Amrabat fit and in. Get Hojlund match fit. Get Mount back. Get Varane back. Resolve the Sancho and Antony issues swiftly The above is key to getting us settled down. Once we have that, I think we’ll be in a better position to judge where we’re up to and I’d expect us to significantly improve. I feel more inclined to cut them some slack right now than usual. |

The dire Fergie years started in his second season when he started his
Clear outs…… and he only had pisspots to deal with Strap in and the good signs will start to show. Not gonna be overnight though. Biggest thing that’ll speed things up is Qatar coming in and transplanting Brightons operations into Carrington |

Well currently we are that bad. Nobody playing particularly well, at least not for anything approaching 90mins. You can talk about garnachos goal all you like but we were terrible first half against arsenal and only decent second half. Wolves awful. Forest did well but we’re at home to forest ffs, and could easily have lost that. Tottenham nope.
Didn’t see yesterday but talking about doing ok whilst getting turned over at home against Brighton is just bullshit. It’s not good enough. Full stop. They had 6 players out too and de derbi been in the role less time than Erik. Obviously United is a much bigger gig but it needs to turn around and quickly. Away form hasn’t been good for years. |

Even if…and it’s a big if…we’re not “that bad” once we get everyone fit, sort out the off field problems and get our finances in order visa new owners, the problem will still persist that we are not “that good” either
We need to be up there competing for every trophy, and unless the 115 charges lead to city’s downfall I’m afraid domestic success is some time away and Europe is a pipe dream The future ain’t bright |

The club is badly run and we haven't been able to shift toxic players.
That said, we've supposedly got enough good players to get better performances and results than we have done in the past. If injuries is the only issue we've got then let's see if that changes in a couple of months. If not, we're still in the same position but with fewer excuses. |

Shades of “other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?”
We are doomed. We need the glazers out. The fish rots from the head and we are a big rotting tuna. ETH is not the problem. Too many shit signings by people who run the club badly. Yes we have some #@&%!head players and some straight forward ham and eggers - but we also have some gems. Small ones. Midget gems you could say. But they will be delicious in future. We are in for another shit season. Can’t wait for the 5+ humiliations at the hands of city and Liverpool ffs |

We’ve said it constantly, but you can’t be out worked. You’ve got to be straining to compete for everything, amble about or take your foot of the pedal at any point and you’re in trouble. We think we can apply the opposite and just turn up, hang in and put our foot down for 15 minutes when we feel like it. Pathetic.
Hate to say it but the toxicity that was building preseason feels like it hs permeated the dressing room and yesterday had a distinct whiff of can’t be arsed and what’s the point. The manager has his work cut out, again. |
