Honestly would anyone be surprised if Ole saw Martial as a rotten apple in the dressing room
Would probably be the mostly likely to be in our squad

If true it makes the club look even bigger @#%&!s for giving him that big new deal
Nothing about the club would surprise me. Selling Martial would be an erratic decision as very few would have sold him two months ago. Suspect he will be here next year but it wouldn’t be hard to find a buyer.

Says a lot about his mentality tbf.

Unhappy because his squad number changed and it didn’t match his ‘brand’.

Precisely.

The other three were playing in midfield, not as part of a front three.

It’s a disingenuous stat (as so many stats are) which doesn’t account for the goals he scored while playing as a centre forward in his first season,

yeah he scored a load of goals when played as a centre forward so it's his fault for not being a good winger.

joined up thinking please. ffs.

Tbf I don’t think many people can fault his ability, it’s his lack of desire to make the most of his ability which I don’t like.

He’s hardly ever played as a centre forward for us

More than Giggs or Becks tbf

play lukaku on the wing and ask him to track back and see how it goes.

the kid isn't a winger

You keep saying he’s played as a winger
He hasn’t most of the time

He doesn’t
He plays wide up front as part of a front 3

Giggs and Beckham generally played in midfield and were as I said already primarily providers
They both were hugely creative while Martial struggles to make a 5 yard pass most of the time

That’s what they said about Rashford. Even if it’s not his favoured position, I’m not sure why that means he can’t put a proper shift in.

Clearly I’m not saying that. The point is that stat is supposed to show he has a favourable goal return compared to other wingers. But he scored a disproportionate amount of them while not being played on the wing, so it’s not a true representative sample of his output while playing out wide. Not to mention he plays on the outside of a front three, not the wide man in a midfield four/five.

You’re not comparing apples with apples so it means diddly squit.

Van Gaal said that’s where he played much of his Monaco career, so you’d think that the position we signed him for initially?

He's clearly v talented but so what? He's half arsed. Do you think you win trophies or be remotely successful with mard arse that players that only put a 50% shift in?

Martial at 50% is still more worth keeping than Lingard at 100%

This.

He’s 23 and is probably the only player that hasn’t shown signs of improvements under Ole and was better when Mourinho was manager.

I’d like to see the club give him one more season because he’s clearly very talented, but if It’s true that Ole thinks he’s a bad egg and wants rid then so be it.
