Maybe it would be nice to have a chemical weapon as opposed to just a weapon?

Granted he is a bit shit, but Liverpool were asking for around £35 million for Sakho a few weeks ago weren't they? He is very very shit.

Big Paulie McGrath dishing him.

Saying we're much better off with Bailly. Says Smalling needs to watch a DVD of himself to realise all he does is pass it 5 yards to the side or hoofs it

He has this strange ability to get that ball to go in what looks like an impossible angle when he kicks. Don't think I've ever seen the shithead kick the ball straight

Tbf you don't need to have played cb at the top level to know that Smalling is awful on the ball; all you need are eyes. In Van Gaal's first season Mourinho was letting Smalling run 50 yards without a challenge when we played them at Stamford Bridge, so this was never going to end well for Mike.

That said, I'd rather keep him as 5th/6th choice for league cup games and in case of injuries than flog him for 10m in a market where fred the red is worth 8m. As a pure one on one defender he's better than anyone Liverpool have.

According to Mourinho at some coaching gig recently he even took the piss out of Smalling's passing ability or lack thereof in his teamtalk before the Europa League final.

evans going for 25+ , smalling has to be close to that to sell. if bang average fb's are 30+ then a bang avg cb must be worth more.

England international, played at the highest level in Europe, has won the Premier League and captained the biggest club around. On top of this he's still only 27 years old.

We should realistically be getting in the region of £30m for him in the current market, especially when you factor in the English nationality, which usually adds on £5m-£10m.

He'd be perfect for a West Brom/Stoke/Arsenal.

Could see WBA making a bid if Evans does leave

i've watched loads of the matches this season and the defending has been £#%&!ing terrible. more than a few should be interested. FFS the dippers would be upgrading along with le arse.

I would worry less about other teams upgrading and more about our alternatives. what smalling does well, he does better than anyone else in our squad. and every one of our defenders makes mistakes. laugh about his distribution, but his heading and tackling matter more. not feeling the jones love. the piano is still falling.
