Everyone knows we want rid, though. Having said that, you'd think there would be more interested parties.

It's not 2010 for f***s sake.
you're also talking about a 30yr old CB that has maybe 2-3 yrs left in him at a decent level and we are trying to sell him

Brighton isn't trying to sell...not really a warranted comparison

similar to why Sancho is still at Dortmund

Dunk isn’t on a long term, vastly inflated contract.

Lewis Dunk is 28 and has never been at the top level, and £40million was Chelsea's opening offer.

£10-12million for Chris Smalling would be nonsense and would be yet another signal for other clubs to drag out negotiations because we're a shower of mugs who'll pay over the odds and sell cheap as long as you make Ed Woodward nervous.

Doesn't help that it's widely known we need to shift defenders, whereas Brighton deffo didn't want to sell Dunk.

Still, we turned down £15m and insisted he come back, can't see us now accepting £9m + add ons

Brighton don't want to sell, we do.

Also, clubs don't exactly seem to be chomping at the bit to sign Smalling on the cheap. Maybe the fact that he's £#%&! and he'd command a higher weekly wage is being taken into consideration with his asking price.

maybe the fact that smalling is performing to a decent standard in a decent leagues suggests that he isn't complete £#%&!, but your comment might be.

That must be why we're struggling to shift him for under £15mil then...

Smalling belongs in the conference. we'll be lucky if any @#%&! takes him off our hands.

Decent league? The one where lukaku is breaking records and Ashley Young is a mercurial wing back?

lol...now this is a funny headline

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have agreed to go about Jadon Sancho negotiations in a ‘more respectful manner’, reports say. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have already signed Donny van de Beek. And they’re hoping the England international will follow the Dutchman to Old Trafford this summer.

Fair enough, but the key in that sentence was inflated.

we need to get a deal set in place like chelsea has done for Havertz....80m with 20m in add-ons....that should be enough to get Dortmund to do a deal
