..what about Paul McGrath, Paddy, Nobby and big Dunc ?

Kevin Moran seemed to me to be a particularly hard @#%&!.

I dunno, have a memory of him being stretchered off at Old Trafford with claret everywhere and as the crowd chanted his name a defiant fist being raised from the stretcher. Back on about 2 minutes later looking like a WW1 wounded soldier.

There's a couple on that list that should be replaced with Stam

not particularly in the pshyco mode, but hard as nails, would run through a brick wall for you, and not someone who could be intimidated.

I think Viv Anderson was probbly fairly tasty with his fists.

I'd kinda hope Graham Hogg was a "hardman" too, he was a £#%&!ing useless footballer and i'd hope there was soime reason we had him.

Agree with McGrath mate but I was just going off people who I saw play. If you'd ask my Dad and Grandad they would probably say Bill Foulkes, Paddy, Mark Jones and Big Dunc.

Why not rename the thread "Hardest United Player of the last 30 or so years ?"

I'd lay money that some part time sheet metal worker playing in the early part of the 20th century for united would scare the afore mentioned suggestions to death

It might not be a popular decision but I reckon Schimikes would be up there. Anyone remember the off the ball in about 96 againt rapif vienna when the Rapid striker punched him in the face when the ref wasn't looking and the Dane just took it like he had punched a wall and just glowered at him?

I don't think I saw that player go in the box for the rest for the game.

Never saw him play but wasn't Jim Holton a meant to be a bit of a hardman?
