The £#%&!ing limit is how they claim they're due a change in fortune for all their loyalty throughout those many, many years. Yeah, all 3,007 of you are, you lying @#%&!s.

I don't think it's inevitable that City will win the league soon. Moratti spent years at Inter breaking world transfer records, buying players far better than City are doing, yet they couldn't win Serie A. It took the match-fixing scandal and their main competetitors being wiped out for them to finally win it.

if city shift tevez and bring in aguero they'll be no better than last year and probably a little worse. i'd say they're now about the level that chelsea were at when abramovic started his spending, and even with that it took mourinho to bring chelsea up to united's level (and despise the @#%&! as i do, there's no denying that maureen knows how to win).

You'd be off like a shot.
If I was earning 40 grand a year I would. If I was already a multi millionaire I would pick and choose more carefully.

The comparison doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.

Yeah, at that level it's not a case of needing the money. But I think top modern players need the biggest money possible as justification of their ability and standing in world football. It's more an ego thing than a bank balance thing. So it's still fairly easy to turn even a millionaire's head with double money.

this.

With earning the most comes the presumption that you must be the best/one of the best.

ronaldo doesn't need the extra 40k a week, he just needs to know he's earning more than kaka, for example.

don't know why i thought of ronny when you mentioned ego
