A £#%&!ing 16 year old stick insect is not the answer to our midfield problems.

FFS United.

Seems you can't win here...

'Why are we signing a 16 year old...'

Couple of years later...

'Why didn't we sign him at 16 at a fraction of the cost...'

Football fans, eh.

More an issue that we're not signing anyone who can contribute to our threadbare squad in the here and now imo.

Don't want to spend the extra £10mil to secure the signature of a 25 year old midfielder, but lets throw £30mil at a 16 year old one instead.

Sign him and put him in the £#%&!ing team. Then sign another 2 and let him grow gradually.

That 30m is probably over a period and with loads of bonuses tbf.

The Birmingham reporter that broke the news last week said it was an initial fee of 12m, which sounds a lot more logical tbf.

No defending the way the club is run btw, but these type of deals are probably Woodward/Judge’s level.

Yup, Real Madrid just dropped £23m or so on an 18 year old Brazilian midfielder, the last one they bought was Vinícius Jnr when he was 17 for £40m+.

If this kid is able to deal with the physicality of the Championship at 16 years old he must have fantastic technique, to score 4 times proves it's hardly a flash in the pan thing either.

Fabregas was playing in the PL at the same age, if you're good enough you're old enough etc. Just needs protection & not to be burned out.

Yep, Fabregas circa 2004. 16 years on can you give me more comfort on this one being a starter?
