Sir Alex Ferguson is set to take charge of his 1000th league game for Manchester United on Sunday as the reds travel to Southampton in their third fixture in the Barclay’s Premier League after last weekends 3-2 win over Fulham.

Ridiculous. Real, Barca, Bayern etc have all finished outside the top three on more than one occasion during the same period. To keep that level of performance for 25 years under the same manager is absurd. Says everything about the quality of his man/squad management that he's never lost the dressing room in a quarter of a century of managing top players. One of a kind, in that respect.
