I didn't even know he was English until about 12 months ago. Where was he before Spurs?

Hoping this is another smokescreen for the real signing

He was somewhere in Portugal from being a kid. I don't know enough about football to know what he does. I was of the opinion Carrick was shite because I didn't have the nouse to understand what he did. Still don't tbf.

I'd imagine he's laughing his #@&%! off tbh, 2nd choice by some distance last season, being offered £50m+ If United want him, they'll get him, and Spurs will probably replace him with a better player for about £10m

Nah, mate. He had a bad game for England which, as you know, is the level all Footballers should be judged on. Gareth Southgates England set up

He'd still be a pretty average midfielder

Lost his place as DM to Wanyama last season but apparently good enough for us

He just seems a bit boring compared to Fabberz etc. But he has been good for them. Decent age too. Will get on board if necessary.

Dier is ok and generally I'd back Jose's judgement but £50m plus, for a slightly upgraded Phil Jones, is a bit mental.

Harsh but fair.

Dier's a lot better on the ball tbf, but he's hardly a Carrick replacement, which is what we really need.
