We've been told a lot recently how good Newcastle are becoming - given that, their lack of ambition today was pretty shocking.

Referee was shite btw, like really £#%&!ing bad.

Criminal how we didn’t sign a CF in the summer, everyone and their dog could see what was going to happen. Martial ‘injured’, Ronaldo can’t move and Rashford with his two left feet are our striker options

Resign Igalho ffs, anyone, just sign a £#%&!ing striker.

They're doing alright because they've got no football midweek. Got a whole week to prepare and recover. In this season that's worth it's weight in gold.

Our lack of strikers is killing us. If I doesn't get fixed in January, we're going to struggle for top 4
We’re going to struggle for top four anyway. There’s about 7 teams aiming for it.

That was massively frustrating at the end, but I’m encouraged that we’re actually creating chances. Same midweek. Same at Everton when we went behind. We’re far from perfect, but we stayed calm and kept going.

We know the issues with the squad and they won’t change overnight. We’ve seen them today. We need a striker. We need better options than Fred. We know this. It’ll hold us back this season because we’re a rebuild project.

Clean sheet, forgettable game. Onto the next one.

obvs, we need a cf, dm, rb, etc... but....

fred popping up in mctog country killed us.

not hard to remember when we had four midfielders who could have scored that with their eyes shut (as fred, apparently, tried to). just our average midfielder. we're not talking bryan robson.

Which just makes me wonder even more why they didn't make any serious effort to win it.

True.

Frustrating though.

Heard the same about Arsenal last season tbf. Is it too much to ask for a striker who scores loss of goals without limiting the way we play?

Thought second half especially was really positive . Even better when a mobile forward came
On who has to score that header.

i dont think thats good enough. For manchester united, ok there is no expectation to challenge for the title. but you have to hold higher standards even if youre rebuilding. you cant have room for excuses, the team today should have been good enough to beat newcastle.

sancho , ronaldo are on 300K plus a week. there is absolutely nothing coming from them.

rashford too, seems to be getting goals but cant seem to shake his shitness. That maybe down to ability now rather than form .

our best forward is someone who was on loan to sevilla last season and wasnt good enough to sign permanent for them. They wont sign a CF or one thats good enough in Jan.

Surprised not to see garnacho on in the last 10 mins for sancho.

Getting rid of Ronaldo in January to someone as part of a swap deal would be the ideal scenario. He's not worth the circus he brings any more. Every time he's subbed it's all about him, when he doesn't start it's all about him, when we miss a chance, the cameras are straight on him... and his performances simply can't justify it any more

We all knew going into the season with that tart Martial, Nelson Mancdela and a 37 year old Ronaldo as our striker options was an absolute gamble and so far it's been one that has failed.

Still, when you watch that game and see that, including subs, only 3 players who played were actually signed by the current manager you realise we have a ways to go.

Yep. Proper head in hands stuff with those two misses…. But it happens. That happened when we were at our best.

We’ll win plenty late on against teams sitting back if we keep doing that.

It’s a far cry from just letting games fizzle out.

We’d have drawn 0-0 in the week and lost 1-0 today if it was last year.

We’re creating chances?

Eriksen plays, we win imo. We shouldn’t be that reliant on one player ffs.

The full backs need to offer something in attack if we’re playing well organised teams, they offered £#%&! all today.

If we had a striker we’d have won that by a few. We’re a signing away from competing. If we act in January, top 4 nailed on imo.

Onto the next one…

The real positive for this season i suppose is that ETH is the guy to get it right. They have made improvements. Ronaldo is a big hindrance. Assuming if Martial was fit he would start ahead of him. Need to get rid , who would want/afford him?

fred needs to £#%&! off sooner, sick to the sight of him overhitting/under hitting, not playing the right pass etc. Seriously think the academy lot are worth a better bet if all that smiling #@&%! brings is pace in the midfield.

Yep.

They’re not the worst set of forwards and they’ll get a good share of goals between them. They’ve got 16 between them so far. Respectable. But for various reasons, they can’t be trusted to perform over a season. We’ll have ups and downs with them in the team and the issues in the squad.

I’d rather we persist with this lot than sign another oldie in January again. We need to be going all out for a young, mobile striker in the summer.

Had a garnacho feeling late on, surely he's worth the last 10 at times ? He's been on the bench since the season started....
