Shocking start but improved after the goal as you would expect

Still not very good though

Much improvement needed

Replace Mata with someone who has a bit of pace and it's a lot more threatening up top, too predictable just going down the left over and over.

Darmian excellent so far, Memphis with promising bits of play.

Slow.

Players in their wrong positions.

Passive.

Centre backs still pretty ropey when asked to anything remotely taxing.

Rooney

At least the full backs & central mid is sorted.

Good to see our midfeild pressing and wanting the ball plus not being bullied
It needs time to gell and with some additions to attack and a CB this team will take shape

What we are doing very well is plugging up the centre of midfield and winning possession back from Spurs anytime they try to build centrally. What we are not doing very well is stretching Spurs once we win the ball back. Everything is very compact, and it's making it difficult to create clear chances. Shaw doesn't seem to be overlapping at all, whereas in the last fixture Young and Blind killed Walker by doubling up. Mata is very slow and drifting quite a lot- he plays much better with Herrera inside him-, breaking down the structure. Darmian is a giant upgrade, and Romero is nervous as you'd expect.

I'd say that's overstating it. He's doing fine though.

Just think he plays like a man five years older. Possibly because he came through so young. Van Gaal will definitely have to reassess his bullet proof status at some point.

Once he's beaten the goal-scoring record, he'll be droppable.

Young and Mata must be amongst the most uninspiring first pick wide men United have had in my 30 years watching them.

Yes, Mata is surely at risk if Pedro comes in, another player making runs in behind could change the whole balance of the attack. Memphis looks a forward rather a winger, could be wasting him asking to do the more disciplined role that Young fills.

this........ one piece of play towards the end of the first half and gets the ball 40 yards out from goal and plays a safe sidewards pass, in years gone by he would have been running at the spurs defence trying to beat a couple of players and get a shot off, he has lost that bit of zip he had, has the touch of a donkey
