Blue Moon,
You started singing too soon.
You thought you’d beaten fair play,
Now you’re at Lincoln away.

Just listening to sky sports news with the football reporter from the Times and the Football Writer from the Mirror and they are both indicating that City think they are safe from any punishment and neither of them mention the fact that they are top of the Financial League Table for 2 years running despite the fact their fan base is nowhere near Barca, Real, United, Liverpool or even Chelsea. They all seems to love this team and how Pep is playing and can`t handle the fact that they have possibly been buying the league for the last 10 years

It's a fascinating study in how to curry favour with the various planks who rob a living as journalists in the morally bankrupt landscape of English football. They always love the new kids on the block, they especially love it if they splash lots of money, which gives them lots of sexy headlines...which is why they're all in love with eddie howe and newcastle at the moment.

And for the crowning glory they absolutely loved that they bloodied the nose of Manchester United and that awful Ferguson who'd been so rotten to them for 20 odd years.

Put bluntly, it wasn't in the media's interest to rock City's boat. They've done nothing but pump non-stop negative headlines about Manchester United for the last decade and pounce on any sniff of controversy, i'll bet you can count the negative city stories on one f***ing hand.

None of them have reported how much Haaland actually cost yet. Can you believe that? 94 million he cost. 50 million plus another 44 in agents fees. They never forgot to add the agents fees onto Pogba's transfer. He was always "89 million pogba". Even though it was 69 million with 20 in agents add ons.

There's a reason for that. It makes city look better. "ooh what a bargain city have got there, aren't they savvy, aren't they so well run.."

It's not an accident. One grubby hand washes the other.
That's the great thing about those German journalists at Der Spiegel - they couldn't give shit about putting some Abu Dhabi noses out of joint, they absolutely despise what City have done and the arrogance they've shown in the process.

That's also why I don't mind that Javier Tebas guy. He might be bitter about the commercial success of the Premier League, but he's constantly bringing negative attention to City and PSG and reminding the authorities to actually do their job.

This all makes the absolutely MASSIVE pitchside advertising hoardings even funnier. What desperate dan came up with that money spinner?

I think there’ll be a lot of journos hoping they get away with it for two reasons of self-interest:

1) As Sparky has so eloquently explained they have the red (blue) carpet rolled out for them at the Etihad. As these people were the dweebs at school who were told to £#%&! off when the others were playing football, being made to feel important gives them a fuzzy feeling in their angry little nubbins.

2) How shit does it make them look as professional journalists? 15 years of blatant cheating on an industrial scale which, not only have they failed to even reference, they have been actively praising at every opportunity. It is an absolute embarrassment for them.

To be fair the 1200 empty seats they sacrificed were all empty although gates receipts show that they were actually filled will corporate members at £500 a game.

If the PL were looking to provide City with a realistic escape from the charges surely they would have limited them to a couple of lesser offences.

But 100?

I know precisely zero about the legal processes involved...or the seriousness of the charges vs the penalties...but the PL have set themselves up for humiliation if they aren't planning to go the distance.

From an article online

Quote:
No doubt news of the charges, which include allegations of inflated deals being struck with connected parties, will have sent shockwaves through City’s commercial sponsors jealous, as always, of their reputations.

Although to date there is no news of any swingeing statement from First Abu Dhabi Bank, Etihad Airways, Experience Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, Aldar Properties of Abu Dhabi, Masdar energy of Abu Dhabi, and e& telecoms of Abu Dhabi.

Top stuff, Sparkles. Send the £#%&!er a reminder of your last conversation including that + Chris’s quote

Was only reading a self congratulatory piece from Ian Ladyman in the Athletic the other day. The gall of these @#%&!s. Basically that it’s managers that lie, not the press. They merely relay information. The fact that hardly any manager trusts them to print something without their self serving, infantile narrative driven shite and haven’t done for decades, tells its own tale. @#%&!s to a man. Worst press in the industrialised world.

Not sure who’s worse, this lot or referees

Mood on Blue Moon seems to have changed. Some fans now criticising the owners for unethical business practices that have smirched the name and reputation of a club that had 100 years of history before they ever came along.

Nah, not really. It's all a conspiracy and city should sue everyone for defamation, starting - obviously - with United.

Oh, and there are calls to boo the PL anthem when it's played at the weekend. That's show them.

This is my hope that they can apply as much pressure as possible on the FA/Premier League to throw the book at these @#%&!s.

Got some legs on it, that...

They took your titles away.

If it leads to stronger regulation then they will find it a lot harder to cheat in future too.
Basically this. The punishment will not be being stripped of past titles, but hopefully it will mean they can't buy their way to any more, and neither can anyone else. That would be the big prize to come out of this.

At the very least it’s hit mainstream.

Whenever you meet a city fan..:yea but you cheated your way to a win. It doesn’t REALLY count.
