Default Uniteds finances

For me this window was just really badly run, alot are saying we are broke, is there a link showing the money, some fan did it or something. What I mean is with the debt it seemed controlled and recently money has been pouring in from tv and sponsorship what's the deal?

The deal is that the Glazers are there to get as much as they can out of the club by whatever means necessary by hey will fluff the accounts up at the right time to make investors happy and if you think you're a fan, tough shit. You aren't, you're a customer there to be milked of your hard earned cash

We will never make a record signing until the debt is paid off. That is of course if the @#%&!s don't just start pocketing more rather than spending it on players.

We were spending £30m on players over 10 years ago.

A decade on we still haven't broken that threshold even though with the current market and inflation you'd have expected us to have done it long ago.

After 2001 we bought Veron for 28m, Ferdinand for £29.5m and Wayne Rooney for £29m all within the space of about 3 years. All were record transfers in one way or another.

Ten years pass and the club has had its balls cut off. We should be out there putting down £40-50m on players easily, which we could do before 2005. Since then?....The berbatov transfer was only sanctioned because the club know Ronaldo would be off the next summer anyway.

The rest of the footballing world moved on and the club which makes more money than any other by a mile, can't bid at the top table any more because the bean counters and debt managers that run the show have other plans.

The next Champions League TV deal will apparently see a huge increase too, with England getting the biggest chunk as the most profitable market. Might be another carve up between Sky & BT.

Random nugget but a friend was out for dinner last week with Arsenals Financial Director and he said once the clubs are able to start selling their own streaming rights to Asia they could have CGI fans they'd make so much money

If those @#%&!s could live off the United brand and there never be another game of football played they would be happy. The football is just a necessary inconvenience that needs to be aserviced, once the debt is paid things will be no better. Broke or not its commercial deals first football second.

I'd say that's true.

Just as it's true that it only bought Rooney on installments, only bought Veron because it was going to cash in on Beckham, and paid through the nose for Ferdinand because it sold Stam and replaced him with a free transfer. Even the RvN signing saw Yorke, Cole & Sheringham off the wage bill within a year or so - and when they signed Yorke it was at the end of a summer of trying to sell Ole. And the summer before they bought Sheringham in to replace Cantona etc etc etc... I have got over the £#%&!ers selling Daly and Hill to Derby yet ffs

United had agreed in the summer of 2008 with the player that Ronaldo would remain for one more season before moving to Madrid, it's common knowledge.

Why do you think the Ronaldo money was trousered and we then signed Valencia and Michael Owen.

It's fact that had we not sold Ronaldo for £80m then we would have fallen short on our interest payments that year - I thought this was pretty well known by now, i don't really see how you can try and argue against it.

It was £330m two years ago, so that isn't that impressive.

The new TV deal benefits everyone in the Prem, so the big one will be the Chrysler deal next year. When's the new Nike deal, 2015?
