I think you're giving them a lot more credit then they deserve. We've seen players down tools since Sir Alex retired at various points to be honest. Did it under Moyes, did it under Mourinho. Whether you like those managers or not, players have downed tools at different stages over the last 7 or 8 years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been given three games to turn his fortunes around and save his job at Manchester United, according to the Telegraph.

Officials at the club want to give the Norwegian time to prove his worth, but are also not afraid to make a quick change should a repeat performance of their 5-0 defeat to Liverpool occur.

It won't be easy for Solskjaer either given that the three games are trips to Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta followed by a home game against local rivals Manchester City, who are much better than them.

United haven't won a league game since mid-September and the overwhelming consensus amongst supporters is that a change is needed in order for the club to sustain - what at the minute is an unlikely - title challenge.

Members of the hierarchy met on Monday to discuss what was the best solution for the club, with the majority agreeing that they want to see the current boss turn it around, but weren't ignoring the fact that results haven't been good enough and they won't be afraid to make a change if necessary.
