Those pieces have been being written at least weekly throughout his time here. The Athletic has been spamming with a rehashed version of the same thing 3 times a week since summer.

Hmmm, you almost wonder why Rodgers made a point of specifically ruling out *Newcastle* the other day

Absolutely clueless.
Spent the first minute literally just describing all six goals and then the second minute telling us that the premier league is hard and we need to tackle and block more.

He’s not the most comfortable in interviews in general, but he was just rambling on there.

I could never turn on the guy, but I’d hate to see it get toxic for him. He doesn’t deserve that. He’s a good man, done a good job and he loves the club.

Ideally, he’d walk and leave on his terms, but that’ll never happen.

No, you don’t.

Damning pieces are written about us weekly?

Well, that makes me feel much better 👍

By November we will be A similar position to Chelsea last season when they sacked lampard.

just a novice with nice new signings and not a clue what to do with them.

vdb will probably be our rudiger and I’ think our next manager won’t play The Scottish Player much at all.

They were written about Fergie too. Comes with the territory, slightest slip or weakness and there are 50 think pieces about the demise of United thought you knew better?

Well, there's two ways to look at that.

The first, is that yes, fantastic, Ole got us to the Europa league final

And the other is:

Olé got us to the Europa final after he managed to somehow not qualify from a group that we had almost put to bed. Then, in the Europa final, Olé stood with his hands by his face, as Unai bastard Emery spammed substitutes to freshen up his side and made sure they weren't really in any trouble.

We were embarrassing in the final. A shocking performance where it was harder to lose. Olé left all of his big players out on the pitch until they were past exhaustion. He threw the Europa away.

Let's be honest, even when we finished second, some of the results and performances, especially the arse end of the season, were shocking. How we threw away a shot at the FA Cup was a disgrace too. Leicester City humiliated us. At home.

Look, credit where credit is due - a Europa final and 2nd place is really good. But it could've and should've been so much more.

Everything could and should always have been much better. Other than 1999 I suppose.

What’s wrong with you dunk?

Can’t you just admit that it’s not good enough?

It not being good enough and Ole being ‘clueless’ are vastly different things.

If you've looked at us against Villa, Everton, West Ham in the cup, Young Boys and now Leicester, I don't think clueless is that harsh tbh. What would you call it?

You can look at what someone has done, but you’ve got to be aware of the direction the team appears to be going.

We had a horrendous start to last season, pulled it round mid season, but ended poorly. Not just right at the end either. We lost that FA Cup tie, we hobbled through the league campaign and put all our eggs in the Europa final and produced an insipid gutless display.

Does he deserve to be sacked for that? No.
Ultimately, the league position was better, the points total better and we reached a final where we hadn’t before.

You couldn’t objectively say that the season was better than the previous,

But that trajectory has to continue, because it wasn’t the pinnacle of where we want to be. The next step is a title push and to win a trophy.

To do that, we needed to address obvious deficiencies:

The midfield
Consistency of performances
Game management
Set pieces
Individual errors
Playing well throughout games and not just in spells

These all reared their head several times last season.

Not a single one has improved and most have become worse.

The league campaign already looks a mess. We’ve won half our games despite favourable fixtures and 3 of those were in the first 4 games. We’re out of the LC and already lost in the champions league.

We’re conceding more than ever and we’re barely creating chances. We’ve mustered a handful of chances today, against Villa, Everton and Villarreal.

The performances look less coherent by the week,

Quite simply, we’re getting worse.

When a manager has been in a job for a while and the team starts to look worse over 3-6 month periods, that is a big concern.

And this is after adding Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo. Three quality players.

Clearly something isn’t right. Hasn’t been all season.

The concern is that it really isn’t an especially hyperbolic piece, because it doesn’t need to be.

Actually, it’s not a concern. We’re the concern.

Whatever the ins and outs that led to him finishing second and getting to a final, it should have been a springboard. He added three excellent players and was handed a frankly piss easy fixture list.

And it's been a complete and utter £#%&!ing mess.

Not buying that.

Conte or Zidane would get a tune out of this squad nqat and although it’ll be short term (2-3 seasons), in that time I fancy either of them to get us a league title.

Where as with Van Gaal and Mourinho we expected them to rebuild the squad, that won’t be the case for the next man because of the job Ole has done. One or two tweaks maybe but the last thing we need to do is rip up the entire squad we’ve assembled and start again.

Im confident either of them wins the league here in the next few seasons with a this squad and a couple of midfielders and by which time they leave there’ll be more options available.

We can’t just stick with what’s going on because we don’t fancy the managers available. Just don’t allow them to come in and want to rip the lot up, have a plan etc.

We need to capitalise on having one of the strongest squads in the league while we can, because before we know it we’ll have to start thinking about replacing Maguire, Ronaldo, De Gea, Pogba, Bruno etc and around we go again.

Yep.

Just us on MOTD. No better on second viewing and Shearer damning in his analysis. Nothing crazy, just several examples of us being incredibly passive off the ball and lacking purpose on it. We didn’t press, we didn’t sit back. We didn’t do anything. Whole front four and midfield two just bypassed with two simple passes countless times.

We’re very easy to play against, and that is purely a coaching issue.
