Just had a quick glance at the England squad & apart from Lampard (who isn't an option anyway) I wouldn't particularly want any of them at United...which is a huge problem for the domestic game in my opinion.

Lampard is 32 and there's no point, Joe Cole is injury prone, average and in his late 20s.

Rodwell and Wilshere are the only 2 young English players who'll be incredible players in the next 2/3 years.

We're probably gonna sign Rodwell but need to take advantage over the confusion over Wilshere's future at Arsenal. Could they really reject £10m for a 19 year old who wants out? Get it done Fergie.

taking it as uk and ireland, henderson (sunderland), mccarthy (wigan), hart and cattermole are all players i'd consider. rodwell is good but his price will be inflated with all the publicity. victor moses looks a player as well.

This Portuguese thing seems to be an obsession of you lot and not me.

The only Portuguese i'd sign right now is Ronnie. Haven't watched Portuguese football for a couple of seasons now so not sure what's going on. Moutinho and Veloso who were heavily touted for United seem to have stagnated, probably delayed their moves to better clubs for too long.

Reminds me of the Torres situation, remember how many were unconvinced about him then he goes to a bigger club with less pressure on his shoulders and booom.

cattermole and moses

rodwell is by far and away the best young english player out there.

I agree re Hart. Has had a fantastic season and is more dependable than Foster.

moses is very raw but there's talent there, nqat.

i think cattermole will be an england fixture in three years, going to be an excellent player. 22 years old and a first team regular in the premier league - in fact, sunderland are already very dependent on him. they fall apart when he's not there.
