Default United Vs Galatasaray 1993

Even the kids acted like men that day. Leaders all over the pitch. Who've we got now ffs. Sparky called it...

Should have mentioned I wasn't talking about the actual football - we were pretty useless that night, as I recall - it was the character of those players I loved. Bunk summed it better than I ever could...

The 93/94 team is my favorite.

Fergie still had notions of an attacking heritage to uphold and we played some fantastic football. There was an 'ugly' spine to that side though which wouldn't flinch when it came to mixing it physically.

Unlike today's side which is not only shit at football but also manages to be a gutless, spineless shadow of the Schmeichel, Bruce, Keane, Ince, Robson, Hughes, Cantona era.

The currently team would have filmed that from 20 different angles possibly with commentary from some of them. The old team might have been more successful but you can only play 1 or 2 games a week so maybe 3 hours of entertainment.

The current United team might be shit but can provide endless content that keep us entertained in other ways for longer than we can possibly cope with

Big Paul (aka the black pearl, imagine saying that now?) corralled them into a corner through sheer positioning skills. It was down to denis irwin to escort me out. I wasn't even finished I said but he blanked me.

That's true in the most part, at least here in England and the other multi-million pound generating leagues. Guess it's why I've fallen out of love with the game over the last few years. Players are obviously more concerned about the money and the fame than they are about the guts and the glory. Slapped arsed , instagram-£#%&!ers.

sad truth is that we bottled it that night after completely falling apart in the 1st leg.

The performance was shocking, but the way they handled being in that situation was the making of men (Gary Nev was just 18 the time). Role models everywhere, off the pitch more than on it. Compare to now. Case closed.
