he isnt even the best striker at newcastle added to the fact he cant even make the england team.

obafemi is a far better and more dangerous striker.

If you do not think that Michael Owen is a good goalscorer and has been over the years you need your head testing.

lost a few yards in pace, finishing is average in the current game and as for his goal scoring he is averaging 10 league goals a season.

id take obafemi martins over owen everyday of the week.

owens goal record is incredible tbf, no he cant stay fit but when he does play he often scores. but he is £#%&!ed now. martins is currently their best striker, strong, quick, eye for goal. looked their most likely person to score sunday.

I said he WAS a good goalscorer, but he's got 30 in 4 seasons & he's going downhill pretty quickly with his continued abscences through lack of fitness.

He's also never stayed fit enough in a league season to hit 20+, he's nowhere near the player he used to be.

What's the point in talking up his past glories if someone is advocating signing him this Summer?
