We also never seem to be getting a good deal on players because our buys are too obvious.
Spurs for example have a very good DOF (the ones that banned from the actual role so is labelled as a “advisory”.
Players like that Solomon, udogie…just shrewd buys that do their job.
So what you’re saying is- the people running the club haven’t got a clue and are ultimately the biggest problem.

Agree.

Depends who wanted Rangnick out. Because if Ten Hag was key to moving him on out of desire to bring in players he’s only worked with before then he’s made his bed with regards to recruitment. Seems to be a wilful ignorance that Ten Hag has had random players pushed into his lap Chelsea-style, when instead target after target are players he’s worked with. Hard to see which of these lot except Casemiro who was probably still the best signing of the bunch were shoved over to him

Tbf he probably doesn’t trust the scouting system at the club and who could blame him. It’s the same scouting department that (apparently) compiled a list of hundreds of right backs for OGS and thought Wan Bissaka at 50m was the best route to go.

The club is broken from the top down and allowing a manger to spend millions and millions on only players he’s worked with or has have a Dutch league connection is ridiculous, but again that’s down to poor management and lack of control from the people above the manager imo.

I’m convinced ETH was a dick to Ralf R because of that weird Dutch WW2 genetic defect.

Explains his shrunken Alien head too.

I will always support the bald xenomorph but time is running out for him imho

I haven't been overly enthused with some of ETH's signings (Antony, Mount ect)

I also don't understand why people think he's the second coming & the next (Pep/Klopp) because on paper he's really just a lesser Van Gaal until he proves otherwise.

That being said, I don't think replacing him will change anything for the better. The best managers in the world are smart enough to stay away from a club that has a rotting infrastructure, poor organization, and zero technological innovation.

The club has been doing this for ten years now, one year in the top 4, one year out, with a few mickey mouse trophies along the way. It is the new normal.

At most successful clubs or even just well organised clubs, a new manager will come in and the clubs scouts will already have a list of players that they've checked out, vetted and watched over time. It looks like Ten Hag has come in and Murtough has said "Know anyone that fancies a game, mate?"

Ralf gave him a big list of up and coming players he'd got from Red Bull. He threw it in the bin and went with what he knew.

Again, £#%&! Ralf Ragnick....

It wasn't a list of players, it was a dossier on his time here and he wanted to lecture Erik face to face with his little folder....

The worst manager in Uniteds history ..

No he didn't. He asked the owners to buy them in January, they £#%&!ed him off, he gave the list to the recruitment team and either it was roundly ignored or didn't fit with the owners spending policy. Although they had a nibble at Szesko, who they opted not to buy for £3m a few years earlier as he was 'too expensive'.

Whatever Rangnick had in mind, there should be a system in place, worthy of a club the size of United. Its a £#%&!ing disgrace though, isn't it? Nobody was at the club with any valuable input on any targets (by the looks of it) and then it's on the manager and the panic buying we've seen since Moyes.

Was he £#%&!.

He took over the absolute shit show left by Ole - we were in actual relegation form remember - and basically had to get on with it with zero signings and a squad in disarray.

He opened the lid on the reality at this club. People didn't want to hear it. He wanted to help Erik. Erik didn't want to know.

I bet Erik wishes he took that call now.

Rangnick had the results of Red Bull's scouting to offer. No Erik shouldn't have to rely on that, but given the track record of our scouting dept., I would definitely be wanting Red Bull's list over ours.

100% this - some people’s memories are incredibly short - sad to see toys being thrown out of the pram at the first sign of adversity.

Oh spurs, Villa & Brighton are all better than us - well they weren’t last year and I bet when the season is over they won’t be again

When Ole was sacked the mantra was - get a manager in, back him and give him time - looks like “time” months rather than years.

The manager isn’t faultless but who is - it took Klopp 4 years to win anything and Guardiola took longer than people thought despite the bottomless pot of cash - and importantly the infra structure set up specifically for him.

The manager did enough last year to prove he knows what he is doing - let him get on with it

just realised that from yesterdays squad…

only Antony, Shaw and Martinez were missing.

That really is the squad ETH has built for the season.

How ironic that if we had amazing and competitive owners ETH would have a few months to save his job.
falling out with players , unfair favouritism …, poor football, poor signings even his cult following can’t tell you what exactly he is doing right atm

football is unforgiving and time is rarely afforded at the top end.
