thought he did well when he came on against chelsea, really helped shore the defence up. shame it didn't need shoring up as chelsea were shite, but you can't have everything.

i don't mind o'shizzle though. competent enough at times, one of the great goalkeepers of the modern era, loyal servant, goal against the scousers etc etc

I haven't seen him much recently but all I can remember is him looking shit scared everytime he received the ball and often runing from space towards opposing players to avoid being passed to.

I also get the sense that he feels guilty about being on the pitch - as though, he himself recognises that he really should be working in insurance or something rather than playing for the greatest football team the world has ever seen.

I long for the days when he was 1ST choice centre mid with rusty Ryan.

Those were the days

Was going to argue with you there, but on second thoughts i think you're right, can't think of a better utility player in the league.
But as long as he's at utd, he will continue to be picked apart it's just the way it is.

I think Michael Carrick also deserves credit for this record. He's always tracking back and filling in for the full backs.

Reads the game like a book.

Talksport caused a storm today. Ian Wright and his mate said Carrick is technically better than Gerrard and the best passer in England.

He's a piss poor fullback.

The fullbacks in our team play a significant role in the way we play and he often panics with the ball. It doesn't help either that he turns like a stagecoach bus.

He's useful as a stop-gap when we have injuries because he can defend, but much prefer him in the middle of the park if anywhere.

Yep.
Never ceaces to amaze me how much stick O'Shea gets.

He's a great lad, he's scored some key goals down the years, he puts in a great shift every time he plays (either in fullback positions or centre mid, centre half etc..)

He isn't Pat Evra...he isn't a £#%&!gy haired teenage Brazilian with Puppy Dog eyes, but he is a Manchester United player & it's the attitude of our maligned 'squad' players that set us apart from our rivals.

So, to summarise. He's not as bad as some people make him out to be. I think that's pretty fair.

Been saying it for years (as has dunk and armchair), never lets the side down. He knows his limitations so just keeps it simple

Left back, right back, centre back, centre mid, goalkeeper... you name it

There is not many players in the league who can change positions so frequently and still do a good job - and pop up with some quality goals for good measure
