What's the definition of 'World Class'? I used to think it meant a player who would get in any team in the world in that position. Making around 11 current players 'World Class'. Now it seems to apply to anyone half decent.

What's your criteria?

Beckham was in the first team at United, Real Madrid and now AC Milan. Surely he's got to be considered a world class footballer. SURELY?!

Default tricky one these days, let me see...

he needs to have a technique and a football brain to rank alongside the very best of his peers in the world game

he should have a state-of-the-art ability in one or more aspect(s) of his play

he should be worthy of a place in any 18-man match-day squad you care to mention

he should be coveted by all the top teams in the world

he should have played at the highest level, have a string of accolades to show for it, and still display an ambition and determination to meet the next challenge

Great player.

I know he's a tart, but he's still top drawer. I don't care what anyone says.
