Thumbs down Video refereeing to be trialed in next years FA Cup

Quote:
A trial of the use of video assistant referees for "game-changing decisions" in football will begin no later than the 2017-18 season.

Technology would only be applied to key incidents concerning goals, red cards, mistaken identities and penalties.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) says it has had interest in hosting live trials from 12 national associations and one confederation.

Don't think they're letting Jeff Winter and Elton Welsby make the decisions.

A limited amount is OK, no real arguments against goal line technology for example.

Bravo in the Derby, numerous penalty shouts turned down in opening 20 games. I should have kept note but that's a conservative estimate. Might get people actually getting sent off for two yellows if it's not left to the ref to bottle it.

Perfect example of why it's going to be horrific.

"Please hold off on all impending celebrations until the goal has been verified"

"Stop that counter attack (which has reached the opposition penalty area) it is in fact a penalty at the other end"

Anti football.

you never know, we may actually get more than the the £#%&!ing two penalties we've had this season if they do that!

Give each team three calls, would take about 10 seconds each and eliminate some of the shit we have to see. Would also make refs up their game imo

What if there are more than three calls?

Teams will also misuse their calls, then still complain about getting £#%&!ed over by a later decision.

Also, even when armed with a video, people will still disagree with lots of decisions. Howard Webb on BT talks utter shite over replays.

Are there ever six really bad decisions in games?

Or they could just go with the Tyrone Mings defence and say "I never meant to stamp on his head anyway, despite there being video evidence of me doing it."

A game in which the ball is out of play around 90% of the time?

There will also be far more diving and appealing for decisions with videos. Nqat.

Be great for stopping the game too. The new cramp.

Bit surely there will be a relatively short list of things that can be appealed? Wrong sending offs, handballs for penalties etc. Cant imagine Jose using one of his calls because some @#%&! has dived on the half way line
