Something decidedly fishy about all this... not as in he's been a bad boy, but Capello sacking him off as England captain citing his back injury - United talking about his calf, that doesn't tally up for me. I think his Fleetwood is proper £#%&!ed. Again.

Yea. Bit strange that he’s gone from a muscle strain to out for the season. Incredible shame as, when he was playing this season, he actually looked back to his best. There’s not a centre back in the land that can touch an in form Rio.

It’s like the Ledley King situation at Spurs, which I don’t think is great. Doesn’t matter how good a player is, if they can’t be relied upon to start a decent percentage of our games because of mysterious injuries, I’m not sure they’re worth keeping. Had enough of this %@#$&!s with Saha, the ‘2 weeks’ saga, Hargreaves...

Whatever the specifics of this latest injury I think its clear that he is in a marked physical decline. Like somebody else said I suspect his back is broken.

Smalling and Vidic are looking a great partnership so I'm not worried. I'd sell Ferdinand in the summer if I was Fergie, I'm sure we'd still get around 10mill for him.

I'm sure a club would be willing to pay a transfer fee and £5m+ a year in wages for him too...

Ferguson's just said Vidic is out for Saturday and O'Shea is out for five weeks too.

Bad news about O’Shea. Any word on Rafael? If Fabio has to start I’m not confident he can last 90 minutes.

Evans (wtf was wrong with him?) back in training. That’s something I guess.

Smalling really needs Vidic or Rio beside him. Maybe Evans will suit him, you never know.
