I thought it was very much the other way around, Ole wanted someone like Dembele from Lyon & club didn't pony up the £50m+ required, offered him Mandzukic?

If you’re a good player, having a good season, why would you come to us in January when it means you’re probably going to spend half a season getting frustrated with the incompetence running through the team?

Could be wrong but I thought he wanted him?

Doesn’t look good on the board either way tbf.

So this bloke is our Lukaku replacement then?...

Is he really an upgrade?

He’s 33 and hasn’t managed more than 12 goals a season for the last few years

We should have been in for Haller this summer. I’ve no idea why we weren’t.

If we need to British, and need a flat track bully, let's get a bid in for Glenn Murray.

Matt Judge and Ed Woodward clearly don't have the ability to complete more than one signing a fortnight.

Agreed. Him and Rakitic in Jan would keep us up and probably get us back in the top 6. I think without reinforcements in Jan we will be in a relegation battle.

Apparently his £85k per week wages may prove a stumbling block.

Juventus are reportedly commencing talks with Manchester United over a deal for Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic in January.

Sporting director Fabio Paratici is believed to have flown to England for talks with his Old Trafford counterparts in London.

United are looking to tie up a £13million deal for the 33-year-old as they aim for reinforcements to reignite their season, according to La Stampa.
This one is definitely a goer.

From TuttoSport:

Quote:
Quote:
Mario Mandzukic does not want to eat panettone. His dream is to go to Manchester as soon as possible, that is already in December, in order to have a month to settle in United, starting to train before the official transfer, which can only take place from January 1st onwards. It can be done? Yes, but only if the teams reach an informal agreement in which Juventus could grant the Croatian this possibility. In the past it has happened that players who are not yet officially registered train with the team that was going to do it (one of the most famous cases is perhaps Thiago Silva who in December 2008 joined Milan who did not have the position of an extra-community, freed at the end of the season) . For Mandzukic it would be an opportunity to get out of the gray of these months,
