What you said is also true because we’ve back ourselves into a corner now.

Getafe are talking about buying him and will obviously sell him on but with United would there be calls for United to donate any proceeds from his sale to woman’s domestic violence charities….

Even before that, why sell someone we’ve washed our hands with. Just end his contract no?

It’s all ridiculous and he should be playing for us right now.

Honest read at the moment is he ends up back here in the summer.

Slightly worrying development

Quote:
Varane's contract expires in June 2024 and United have the option of an additional year. When Varane completed his £42million transfer from Real Madrid in August 2021, United erroneously stated he was contracted to the club until 2025 with the option of a one-year extension.

In July 2020, United mistakenly communicated Nemanja Matic had signed a new contract until 2023 when the Serb had actually agreed a two-year deal with a one-year option. Matic elected not to stay for a third year.

imo you can't say you are finished with him and then sign him up for another year. That means he can talk to clubs in january for a free move in the summer.

(I could be wrong.)

I'd like to see an old link to his contract from before the trouble. When was the new contact?

He's going to end up going somewhere and becoming a star, United will get a fraction of the fee we should have got for someone of his talent as well.

We've been utterly £#%&!ed

We £#%&!ed ourselves. As soon as the charges were dropped he should at least have been allowed to train, the club could have announced there and then that he wouldn't be available to first team matches to appease the external mob.

Even at the start of the summer we could have sold/loaned him on much better terms but instead the geniuses who run the club couldn't foresee there would be a backlash if he played for us so they hamstrung the player and more importantly themselves and were left taking whatever offer was available at the end of the window with no thought, time or money to signing a replacement.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are already keeping tabs, by all accounts.

He'll adapt to La Liga, learn the language, and both Harriett and their child will settle well in Spain before Mason makes his permanent move to one of the big two.

Why on earth would he come back to the shambles of United, the very club that threw him to the wolves? Also, Rachel Riley's great Boss Eye will be ever vigilant, ready to unleash her baying mob of social justice-seeking Orcs as soon as there is a sniff of United attempting to bring him back.
