Right so you don't actually belive it then. That's all you had to say.

INEOS say they are bearing any debt required to acquire the club, but aren’t stating what will happen with the existing #mufc debt, which leaves presumption it may remain.

What they do with the existing debt is probably contingent on the price they end up paying. They might well have plans to pay it off if they can get us for a certain value. But if other bidders push the price up, then that might change things, and the money they’d earmarked for the debt might have to go towards the purchase.

They’d be silly to commit to anything this early tbh.

You mean INEOS might want to have a proper look at the finances they've not had access to yet of a football club being sold for several billion quid before making any public comments and/or commitments on the finances that they've not had access to yet?

Bloody madness.

Only four years ago Ineos invested $2bn into Saudi Arabia.

For all the moralising that's going on, Jim is happy to do deals with Middle Eastern governments in the name of commerce.

Post.

Nobody is committing to anything other than a provisional bid to show interest.

INEOS might just be true to their word (remember “watch this space”?) and take the debt on but they also might want to balance the books and guess where the balancing will come from?
