Deep down - or maybe not even that deep down - Rodgers must be praying for the day he retires. Doesn't play the way he wants them to play at all, still spraying 60-yard passes, some which work, some don't. He absolutely cannot drop him and he knows it - would go down as well as when Gullitt dropped Shearer, even tho it was justified.

Their next 4 fixtures are quite easy, easy if you're prospective champions

Apart from playing us they have been given an armchair ride start to a season fixture wise.
