Also: I've made hash browns a few times, basically grate the potatoes and shallow fry with onion and seasoning, flipping halfway through (not me, the hashers)

smashing bit of kit tbf, but the grating and the squeezing out of the water from the potatoes is just a grind.

My lad lives in Barca, was back with me in the summer, he's picked up some absolutely smoking simple potatoes dishes over there. Spannies seem to eat as much spuds as paddies, they just make so much more of them.

But homemade, Maris Piper... I quite often bake a load of spuds, leave a few in the fridge for a few days, then chip and shallow fry... and I loves it. Crispy skin
There is something about chippy chips at the seaside.

I'm a fan of fried left over spuds with a brekkie.
