We’re in a strange place with this one. It may seem that everyone’s paying ridiculous amounts of money for any old dross these days, but there are still relatively few clubs that will pay the best part of 100m for anyone, so unless Real, Barcelona, Juventus or PSG want him -which they don’t- we’re going to have a tough time getting our money back.
Chelsea and City’s record signings are around 60m and Liverpool could only pay what they did for VVD because of the silly money they got for Coutinho. It seems Inter are the only real suitors, and no one in Italy apart from Juve has that kind of dough. I think if we want to move on, we should accept that we paid the Utd premium, get as much of it back as possible and be thankful that we may soon have two young strikers worth good money who cost us £#%&! all. |
