Not sure if that’s directed at me or not?

I rate Blind, top player. Was better at left back for us imo and could actually cross the ball. I’d give anything to have him back in that position now over Young and Shaw.

But as stats go (which is what was being discussed) we actually had a better defensive league record in 2016/17.

But we had the best defence in the league in 2015/16, and we didn’t in 2016/17, correct?

Fine margins tbf.

I think that’s right.

Think we conceded about 5 or 6 less in 16/17?

So obviously an improvement without him at CB tbf.

I’d have him back as a left back in a heart beat though.

Would need to delve further into the detail to give a definitive opinion tbh - goals conceded per 90 mins ratio, clean sheets, XG etc....

What can’t be argued with is that we had the best defence in the league with him at the heart of it.

Maybe in the Dutch league, but for us he was better at full back imo.

He was quite error prone too tbf, his lack of pace was also a problem which is why we couldn’t really play with anything like a high line with him in the team.

All opinions though.

The Dutch league might even make Schneiderlin look a player tbf.

Always dreadfully disappointed in some when Blind is discussed.

Excellent CB for us and now one of the best in Europe in that role.

You go back to the famous win at Anfield and there was some shite in that side, but Blind and Carrick at the back of the team. Some actual brains. Have we got anyone in our whole squad right now you'd consider an intelligent player? Mata?

Blind would walk into the side at left-back or centre-back.

Mourinho binning him for Lindelof was a mistake.
