in and around 2018, the club (Ed Woodward presumably) decided to give lucrative new contracts to Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Rojo, Lingard and Lindelof.
There can only be 2 reasons for this (IMHO): either the club was afraid that letting their contracts run down would hit their resale value () and/or giving them new contracts would be cheaper than buying replacements. Woodward is a £#%&!ing clown. Quote:
