I quite agree old salt, but the British public are largely thick and Gerrard is personally more popular with the average Darren than any of our lads, other than Beckham. A film about him would comfortably turn a profit I reckon.

Film makers will be fuming with him - all the opportunities for a fairytale ending completely £#%&!ed up. A league title finally? No. Ok then, how about a game changing substitute's appearance against your bitterest rivals? Hmmm. Even got tonked in all of his emotional farewell appearances at the end of the season iirc
