Not a chance. Great player, but certainly nowhere near being the best defender. From the players I've grown up watching, Nesta and Cannavaro were far better defenders. Ramos isn't even the greatest Spanish defender. I'd rate Puyol above him.

Pepe at his best is/was the better defender I would say, but Ramos has that added quality of scoring big goals.
One of the great partnerships though, even with Ramos and his 21 red cards. Seriously, 21? barely believable. |
