To be fair, I think the opposition are usually as guilty of that as Spain themselves. Blanc going in against them last week with two right-backs ffs

Encouraging that Portugal have not changed their system for the night. Teams sitting back against Spain almost inevitable though, they are so good and mobile on the ball that pressing high becomes very high risk. They majority of their games are tedious, repetitive and utterly lacking in any drama.

It is a perfect footballing system though, minimizes the possibility of a defeat, wears down the opposition physically and mentally and gives them absolute control.
