De Gea was offered a new contract to stay, wasn't he? Either way, I'm delighted he's gone because not only did he hold us back years with his inability to kick a ball, he was absolutely shit at doing anything but shot stopping. And there's a howler reel of him failing to do that.

Onana is up for a Balon D'Or and has played 5 games ffs Least of our problems.

Just so everyone’s clear, that ballon d’or isn’t for the five games he’s played for us.

But it's an obvious (to some...) barometer of the guys talent. No point making him out to being an utter dud, is there?

It's surprising how often he hits aimless balls upfield. I thought we wouldn't be doing that at all any more. Can't help but feel he was put in nets because he wasn't good enough outfield, not because he was good in nets.

This guy is a fraud.

De Gea is a better keeper FFS.

I am starting to think he’s shit.

I wonder if de Gea hasn't signed for anyone because he knows we will come crawling back...

He’s the cheapest option we could get while still being a top keeper. Not my choice.

Much better than de Gea regardless.

They wanted Maignan or Costa but couldn’t afford them.

Shaky start, he’ll be fine.

Saw a stat the other day; last season at this point in the league, De Gea had conceded 7 from 9 shots on target. Onana has conceded 10 from 29 shots on target.

Not played behind the first choice defence for 90 minutes yet. Or the same defence for 90 minutes yet, I don’t think.

Saw a similar stat about Onana facing 10 shots so who knows...

All I know is this keeper can't save a sausage.

Brighton had 10 shots you banana. Clearly he can save as we didn’t concede 10.
