Thumbs up Martin Samuel

Love or loathe the rotund writer you've got to admire his opening line today

"Football, it would seem, is a simple game: 22 players kick a ball around for 90 minutes, after which Manchester United stick it right up Manchester City. "

Thumbs up Re: Martin Samuel

Manchester City are closing all the time, but it will be a long time before they assemble a group with this resolve. Even in times of trouble, United have unique reserves of character, a mental strength that is unsurpassed in the modern game.

I think Taylor is actually a Forest fan. He does have a go at us sometimes, but is nowhere near as bad as certain others imvho view.

He's anything but, to be honest.

Wrote a terrific, insightful - and fair- account of Fergie in his book This Is The One.

He's got a point.

It will take the fall of a truly big club (like us or the scousers) before anything is done about club ownership.

He didn't even mean that or at least I didn't get that far. What I read he said that it would be good because it would give other teams a chance at winning the league.
