fook me that was 18 years ago , good day owt with the north manc battle bus , half the coach jibbed in, dony know why we tried to get on the pitch big eric had our backs covered!!!!

i prefer that goal to the sunderland one at OT that is always shown. remember how blowy it was that night - and it wasn't helped by one of their main stands being re-developed. terrible conditions, and the fact it was a classic united counter-attack as well - class!

happy St Eric's day everyone


I know the incidents are slightly different, and bear in mind how little media / internet etc there was back then - BUT the comparisons with Hazard's incident are inevitable

1. Nobody got hurt, but at least Eric was assaulting an Adult
2. We banned Eric for the rest of the season
3. He was arrested, charged, sentenced to 2 weeks in prison for smacking a racist who was racially abusing him
4. Ban extended to 9 months

what do we reckon will happen to Hazard? will the sanctions be another illustration of how the FA go soft on us!
