A very important season for me.

Until then quite a few people thought our success under SAF in the 1990s would be a temporary thing and United would soon go into decline. This showed that we were there to stay

That hatrick against Arsenal was when I just held my hands up and said what a player. What a player.

What is it with those scouse @#%&!s though? Fowler, McManaman, Owen, all finished years ago. Scholes and Giggs older than them all and outlasted them easily.

One more thing about Liverpool that I've noticed is that they always seem to have a top striker at their disposal.

The Oldham game? I went to that. My dads got an oil painting of Sparky scoring the winner.

This, for me, was the last 'proper' season before football English football completely disappeared up its own arse.

The summer of euro 96 then followed by the breakthrough of Beckham into an international superstar the following season 96/97...shearer going to newcastle....people going on about the 5-0 and 6-3 to me who i'd never even seen look twice at a football match. Suddenly football was like the £#%&!ing soaps, every @#%&! had watched it and wanted to talk about it like they knew what the £#%&! they were on about.

the 5-0 against forest when you knew we were going to do it. Amazing atmosphere that game. First game the new north stand was open.
