I honestly see Arsenal dropping a lot more points in this second half of the season, and if they do drop points this weekend and we win, and we then beat them next Sunday, we'll only be 3-4 points behind with all the momentum.

If we win this weekend it's well and truly on.
I've got a lazy lob reading that.

If Dalot starts and we got at them like we did the dippers from the off, i think we could win by 3 or 4.

Maybe 5.

Think we'll try and rattle Haaland. Him or Martinez will be sent off.

No chance. He's too cool for that. He'll wind Haaland up to some tune though. Pinching, slating, donkey bites, the full South American playbook.

The same dross have regularly taken points from us over the years.

Win the bread and butter games, don't lose the big ones.

Exactly.

One of the worst things in recent years has been how often we’ve struggled or slipped up against the dross of the league, it meant we could never get any consistency. Finally we’re on a nice run where we’re comfortably despatching teams you’d expect us to beat, often without conceding. It’s massive progress.

It’s getting a bit embarrassing now. Probably brings a comfort blanket to carrington.

our results have been good; our performances... no so much. city could easily win 5-0.

would not say I am confident, but I don't think this game matters that much. we are in a better position, we are fun to watch and we're not at their level (well... their recent form is shit). there is no real downside here, but there is potential. hope. not really belief, but whevs. we are headed in the right direction and a result would be a bonus.

I don't think the team picks itself. I think we need a stronger midfield and sacrifice one of the front three. if we play our usual formation, we will be undermanned in midfield, but.... we could cause them all kinds of problems. might as well have fun.

Don’t disagree. We’ve also beaten arsenal and Liverpool this season so it’s an improvement right across the board - it’s the best I’ve felt facing city for years. but I still have a bit of ptsd concerning them. Not just the number of humpings we’ve had but the manner of them. Competing against them and showing them we’re not too far off is probably enough tomorrow but getting a result would be huge. Not only for our confidence but in denting theirs.

Agree with Jem’s post by and large.

Anyway, balls on the block - prediction?

Would be nice if we could restrict them to just one hat trick this time.
