I don’t think goals matter so much for a defensive midfielder. Carrick got 24 in nearly 500 appearances, with 40 assists. Under Ten Hag’s management, and with Casemiro to learn from, Rice could be a top player for years to come. I love Casemiro but it’s still wise to think for the future, and if he gets injured there’s no one in the team who could play his role nearly as well.

His contract at West Ham expires in 2024 which leaves us in a good position if we were to go in for him.

Ideally we'd be go for Bellingham aswell, but it sounds like Madrid are in poll position.

Someone must be confident of a big transfer budget if we've prioritised Rice and Osimhen. Both will cost a mint.

People keep saying Rice will be expensive but like I said, his contract runs out next year and he’s refused to renew with West Ham, meaning he’s going to push for a move. Not saying he’ll be cheap but certainly won’t be as expensive as he would’ve been a year or two ago. If we offer Maguire as part of the deal I could see West Ham taking 30-40m.

He’s had a poor season but he’s top quality. He’d massively strengthen rivals, we should be in for both him and Bellingham

And a centre forward? I doubt it unless Sheik Bigus Dickus takes us over.

Rice has apparently agreed to join Arsenal on a 5 year contract at the end of the season with a £60k pay rise putting him on £200k a week. With 12 months left on his contract West Ham don`t want to risk losing him on a free and so it`s reported that they will accept a fee of around £70 million
